The madness is upon us! This week marked the start of the 2015 NCAA Men's Basketball March Madness tournament and many of us here at Continuum will be watching very closely. A couple of weeks ago, we decided to rally the troops and organize a little friendly office competition here in Boston. Blank brackets were distributed and notices were posted around the office and via email. Bragging rights are the ultimate prize and trust me, those bragging rights are heavily coveted!
Credit for organizing the event goes to Esther Kim. Esther took it upon herself to oversee and score the competition. "We have a lot of people who are interested in sports in the office and it’s a fun side activity for us when we’re not working on things."
If you look at Esther's bracket, you'll see "DUKE" written in the National Championship box. "I’ll give you four reasons why Duke will win: Jahlil Okafor. Tyus Jones. Justise Winslow. And Coach K! Or COACH 1K, as some of you may know him," said Esther when asked who would be taking home the title.
Continuum's Boston employees ranging from seasoned College Hoops fanatics to March Madness rookies decided to take part in the fun this year. Although Kentucky was the popular choice (for obvious reasons), we did see a nice variety of predicted National Champions.
Take a look at a few of our brackets below and fill out the poll to let us know who you think has the best shot of being named "Continuum College Hoops Guru!"
As you can see, not everyone in our office is going with the popular choice of Kentucky. In fact, many of those competing have come to the defense of their underdog picks.
Mary McCoy, Continuum's Inbound Marketing Specialist, is a big supporter of the Virginia Cavaliers... "2015 is the year of the Hoos. As a proud UVa alumna, I have only one thing to say: Wahoowa Wahoowa Uni-V-Vir-gin-ia Hoo-ra-ray Hoo-ra-ray Ray Ray UVA!"
Check out the Vine below to see some more predicitions. It seems like Mike Barnes (the guy with the awesome beard who appears last) may have missed Selection Sunday this year...
Regardless of who wins, the March Madness tournament has served as a good way for our office to build camaraderie and have a little bit of fun!
