Continuum's First European Partner Day a Success

Continuum hosted its first annual European Partner Day last week in the UK. The event took place on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the Churchill War Rooms in London, England. Continuum gathered its European MSP partners for a day of training and networking in order to help them increase revenue and profitability. Among the Continuum executive team that attended was Michael George, Continuum's CEO, Jeanne Hopkins, Continuum's CMO & SVP, and Rob Autor, Continuum's SVP of Global Service Delivery. 

European Partner Day was a popular event and was completely sold out more than a month before the event took place. the event provided a valuable opportunity for Continuum's Executive Team to connect with European Partners on a more personal level. Below is a recap of just how great the day was!

 

Michael George: The Value of Exploration

On Wednesday morning, Continuum CEO, Michael George delivered his Keynote address.  Michael kicked off his Keynote by discussing the value of exploration beyond the destination of our intended discoveries. In this segment, Michael referenced MSPs as modern-day explorers and innovators. Michael stated, " Together we are unique in the marketplace. We are on a journey together as explorers, and together we have an invention called Smart Sourcing for the SMB."

Michael stated that Continuum is prepared with a unique service delivery model on a unified platform, which brings economics at scale to a rapidly changing and dynamic marketplace. He told partners, "This is your opportunity to adapt your own business in a dynamically changing world." 

Michael connected the historic significance of the Churchill War Rooms Museum to his keynote by telling partners that this was their chance to capitalize on a smart sourcing model that the world's leading technology enterprises have been benefiting from for more than two decades.

Michael's keynote's overarching theme was the evolution of our industry. Michael discussed the fact that a lot of technology companies are coming after the IT Services opportunity, which is big, and Continuum partners  need to size and scale to capitalize on it.

Finally, Michael discussed the threats to traditional business models. He urged partners to get on board with this unique business model.

 

Craig Sharp: How to Become a Remarkable MSP

Craig Sharp is a stakeholder and driving force behind MidLands based MSP Abussi Ltd. Craig's presentation, titled, "How to Become a Remarkable MSP," highlighted business, personal and cultural change and how simple tactics can make you go from being good to a great MSP. He gave real examples of companies, discussing the background, the process of incorporating change and then the profitable outcome. He summed up his presentation by discussing the lessons he revealed, the challenges that MSPs will continue to face, and the action MSPs can take to make a difference.

After a jam-packed morning, attendees got to enjoy a lovely networking lunch in the Harmsworth Room. This room held the generator that powered London during the Blitz! Not only did attendees get to enjoy some yummy bites, they also got to dine among history! 

 

Tracy Pound: UK State of the Channel Study

Tracy Pound, CompTIA Faculty & Managing Director, Maximity has over 30 years of experience in the IT industry. Tracy was recently appointed to CompTIA Board of Directors. She was also voted one of the top 50 women in technology in a survey by PCR, the UK trade magazine for the computer and IT industry. Tracy's presentation explained the UK Channel as a highly dynamic environment with many obstacles to overcome. Her presentation outlined vendor partner relations, the future of the channel, and business lines. Tracy shared helpful insights for driving revenue and provided statistics to back them up.

 

Zeshan Raja: Continuity247™ Overview

Continuum's own Zeshan Raja, Assistant Director, Partner Success, gave a overview of Continuity247, Continuum's fully managed backup and disaster recovery (BDR) platform. Zeshan discussed the benefits of Continuity247 as well as the technical features and benefits. Included in Zeshan's presentation were discussions on instant restore for virtual workloads, flexible pricing packages, and Continuity247's fully managed option with support from Continuum’s Network Operations Center (NOC). 

 

Rob Autor: Continuum Product and Services Roadmap

Rob Autor, SVP of Global Service Delivery at Continuum presented the Continuum Product and Services Roadmap. In his presentation, Rob discussed the future for Continuum and the continuous improvements and developments in 2016. He shared information on the growth of Continuum's NOC and Help Desk, inluding that in 2016, Continuum's NOC employs more than 700 technicians.

 

Wrapped up the day with speaker & Attendee Q & A!

European Partner Day ended with an open Q&A session for all attendees. This was a big opportunity for Continuum's European partners to communicate their thoughts directly to Continuum's executive team.
