Continuum's Mumbai office recently celebrated Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights. The celebration lasted throughout the last week in October and included hand-made crafts, decorations, food, gifts and festive lights throughout the office.
Diwali is one of the most celebrated festivals in India and recognizes Ram's (the seventh avatar of the Hindu god, Vishnu) return to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile. It is tradition to light up houses with earthen lamps called diyas.
Below are some of the events that Continuum held to celebrate Diwali.
Continuum held an office decoration contest as well as a diya making competition. Employees brought the festive spirit into the office by decorating the space with festive lights.
Employees competed in a Rangoli making competition. Rangoli is an art form in which patterns are created on the floor in living rooms or courtyards using colored rice, dry flour, colored sand and flower petals. The competition gave employees a chance to show off their creative skills.
An "Ethnic Day" was held at the Continuum Mumbai office where employees dressed in their best ethnic wear. Winners of the "best dressed" competition were presented with Diwali goodies.
In addition to the contests and events, all employees were presented with Amazon gift cards as a Diwali gift.
