Employee Spotlight: Anne Grassey

Posted February 26, 2016by Ben Barker

Each week, Continuum spotlights an employee who has gone above and beyond. The spotlight is more than just recognition of the hard work being done at Continuum, but a look into the person behind that work. We find out what our employees do for fun, what their favorite movies are, what their passions are and much more. We also ask them about their experiences working at Continuum and what they like most about their job. Check back each week to find out who made the Employee Spotlight.

This week, Anne Grassey is being featured!

Anne is the Office Manager at Continuum's Boston headquarters and recently coordinated the efforts to move to the new location on 99 High Street!

Let's get to know Anne a little better...

Anne at Continuum

How long have you been working for Continuum? "I'm coming up on five months."

How did you hear about Continuum in the first place? "I learned of Continuum Managed Services by answering phone calls long before I worked here. My former employer was also called Continuum and I often got calls from people looking for employees of this company. I did a Google search to see exactly who Continuum Managed Services was. I read about the company and saw a job posting for Office Manager and the rest is history."

What is your favorite thing about working for Continuum? "I enjoy that every day is different and exciting. There are often new challenges and opportunities for me to make meaningful contributions and grow professionally and personally."

What is your best memory as a Continuum employee? "My first week was very memorable as it was the week of Navigate 2016. There was so much hype and excitement as everyone was scrambling to make sure all the pieces of the event were in order.  I jumped in to help with shipping, hotel reservations, expenses, last minute requests."

What is one skill that you have gained since becoming a Continuum employee? "I have mastered a few new skills since I started working at Continuum.  I am now an accomplished Popcorn Producer and FedEx Expert."

What do you look for in a good company? "I believe a good company has great avenues of communication, values its employees and talents, learns their super powers, and allows them to run with those skills with confidence and enthusiasm."

Would you recommend applying at Continuum to a friend? "Absolutely! This is a great place to work with lots of opportunity and support. We work hard but the rewards are great."

More about Anne

What is your favorite movie? "Singing in the Rain with Gene Kelly, Donald O’Connor, and Debbie Reynolds."

What is your favorite TV show? "Law and Order."

Do you have any pets? What are their names? "No pets, I have 3 sons and that’s enough for now."

What is your favorite animal? "I’d have to say dogs. They are always so happy to see you no matter how your day has been."

What kind of music do you like to listen to? "I like all types of music but my favorite go-to artist is Billy Joel."

Do you follow/play any sports? If so, which teams/sports? "I follow hockey, football, and baseball. With 3 sons and a husband, I need to be able to keep up with the conversations. Although we are all from Natick, they all favor a different team.  I am a true Boston fan and love the Bruins, Patriots, and Red Sox."

What is your favorite song to sing at karaoke? "It's embarrassing to say, but it’s Paradise by the Dashboard Light by Meatloaf."

If you could have any super power, what would it be? "I think my superpower would be  mind-reading. I love being proactive. I want to be able to fix something before you even know it was broken, or order something before you realized you needed it, or take care of something before you noticed it needed attention. I want to be 5 steps ahead in the game. If only I could read your mind…"
