Employee Spotlight: Joe DeRosa

Posted June 3, 2016by Alicia Lazzaro

Each week, Continuum spotlights an employee who has gone above and beyond. The spotlight is more than just recognition of the hard work being done at Continuum, but a look into the person behind that work. We find out what our employees do for fun, what their favorite movies are, what their passions are and much more. We also ask them about their experiences working at Continuum and what they like most about their job. Check back each week to find out who made the Employee Spotlight.

This week, Joe DeRosa is being featured!

Joe is the Senior Director of Backup and Disaster Recovery Products working in our Boston office and has been with the company for 2 months. He was nominated for all of the hard work he has been doing with our Continuity247™ product.

Let's get to know Joe a little better...

Joe at Continuum

How did you hear about Continuum in the first place? "A reference for another job told me to speak with Brian Herr [VP of Products] before making any decisions."

What is your favorite thing about working for Continuum? "The 'Great Place to Work' emphasis. It drives a lot of good behaviors."

What is your best memory as a Continuum employee? "On-boarding: my first 2 weeks on the job included attending a PAC meeting, a Technical Roadshow and a customer meeting with a power user of my products."

What do you look for in a good company? "Beyond culture, competitive advantage in a fast growing and dynamic market."

Would you recommend applying at Continuum to a friend? "I already have!"

More about Joe

What is an interesting fact about yourself? "I once wore Miss Universe’s tiara and sash. She wouldn’t let me get a pic though, something about getting in trouble with her sponsors…too bad because I sure pulled off that look!"

What is your hidden talent? "I have the most unique use case for my pickup truck that I know about – I shovel the snow from my city parking space into the bed. Nobody else has a place to put theirs and I have seen some bad things."

Do you follow/play any sports? If so, which teams/sports? "I started Olympic style weightlifting 2.5 years ago to lose weight and just placed in a national tourney – but the best part is that my girls now want to lift heavy things. I have video of them pulling over 1.5 times their bodyweight off of the floor in their footie pajamas – how good is that?"
