Employee Spotlight: Rushabh Dadbhawala

Posted May 20, 2016by Alicia Lazzaro

Each week, Continuum spotlights an employee who has gone above and beyond. The spotlight is more than just recognition of the hard work being done at Continuum, but a look into the person behind that work. We find out what our employees do for fun, what their favorite movies are, what their passions are and much more. We also ask them about their experiences working at Continuum and what they like most about their job. Check back each week to find out who made the Employee Spotlight.

This week, Rushabh Dadbhawala is being featured!

Rushabh is a Technical Architect working in our Mumbai office and has been with the company for 9 months.

Let's get to know Rushabh a little better...

Rushabh at Continuum

How did you hear about Continuum in the first place? "Through a job portal. I was looking for the role of an Architect in a product company, and voila!"

What is your favorite thing about working for Continuum? "The transformation in RMM is creating the space to challenge and raise my software design and architecture skills. That makes work interesting and fun for me."

What is your best memory as a Continuum employee? "The day out with the Core Engineering team in Mumbai. We went to a theme park for adventure activities; it was a fun day with great team building."

What do you look for in a good company? "Besides remuneration, I give equal significance to creative job satisfaction and being part of a great team. Joy-Money-Flow probably explains that the best.

Would you recommend applying at Continuum to a friend? "Certainly. Engineering opportunities being created at Continuum are interesting and exciting."

More about Rushabh

What is an interesting fact about yourself? "My undergrad is in Finance and Economics, but my Masters is in Computer Science. I was on a path to become an MBA in Finance. A course on programming changed things for me. I was too badly hooked on coding to pursue any other stream."

What is your favorite movie? "I rarely watch a movie twice. Hence, by that standard, “Kung-Fu Panda” is my favorite movie. Its message that “there is no special ingredient,"  Po’s light bulb moment, always brings me back to the movie. I also like V for Vendetta, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and October Sky."

What is your favorite TV show? "Seinfeld is an all-time favorite. Big Bang Theory, Elementary and CSI (Las Vegas) are my recent favorites."

What do you like to do for fun? "I usually spend my weekends doing some fun experiments with my 7-year-old daughter. Obviously she asks a lot of questions, and I take it as a challenge to give an answer that she understands. (Try that with Theory of Relativity). I like listening to podcasts while I drive to and from office on a range of subjects like Technology, Science, Behavioral Economics, Management, etc."

What is your hidden talent? "If I weren’t a software engineer, I would’ve been a cartoonist (or so I would think)."

What kind of music do you like to listen to? "I like instrumentals in Indian Classical. I usually listen to Santoor and Sarod, but “Monsoon Magic” by Rupak Kulkarni is my favorite."

Do you follow/play any sports? If so, which teams/sports? "I don’t follow any sport religiously, but I like to watch Lawn Tennis. I hope Novak Djokovic wins the Super Slam this year."

If you could travel anywhere on earth to vacation, where would you go? "Any place by a river in the midst of mountains. I just came holidayed in Sikkim with my family. Should’ve stayed a couple of more days just to take the pics of Kanchenjunga in all its colors."

What is your go-to karaoke song? "You don’t want to hear me sing! … I don’t want to hear me sing!"

If you could have any super power, what would it be and why? "Living in a noisy place like Mumbai, I’d yearn for the super power of silence … because I seek 'inner peace.'"
