Meet the Board: James Foy

Posted May 6, 2016by Alicia Lazzaro

Each week, Continuum spotlights an employee who has gone above and beyond. The spotlight is more than just recognition of the hard work being done at Continuum, but a look into the person behind that work. This week, we decided to recognize a member of our Board of Directors. Check back each week to find out who made the Employee Spotlight.

This week, Board Member James Foy is being featured. Keep reading to learn more about James!

About James Foy

What was your first job? "I was an associate engineer for International Computers Limited located in the UK. My girlfriend’s father was a Data Processing (DP) Manager and he was pretty well off so I thought there might be a lucrative future there."

What was your first car? "A Morris MINI, which was much smaller than today’s MINI Cooper and was difficult for me to fit in to it, but it was cheap!"

What was your major in college (where did you go to college) and why did you select it? "Sadly I was not at college long enough to select a major but it would have been computer science. I left college after the first semester because of a family crisis which obliged me to become the bread winner for the family. I’ve always regretted not going back to school. It’s still a possibility."

What does Continuum look like in five years? "A very successful company with a significant increase in market share. This will give us the platform and means to lead with the technology that the evolving market will need. We always have to be aware of the changes in the market!"

What is your favorite sports team? "The Patriots, followed closely by the British Lions (rugby). I played rugby at a decent level into my 30’s."

What do you collect? "I’ve never been much of a collector but now with 8 grandchildren all under 6 years old I suppose you could say that I collect grandchildren."
